Jennifer Lancaster of Business Author Academy has been named as a finalist for the AusMumpreneur Awards in the Online Education category.
The AusMumpreneur Awards, presented by The Women’s Business School, celebrate Australian mums in business who are achieving outstanding success in various areas, like business excellence and digital innovation. The awards are designed to recognise the growing number of women who successfully balance motherhood and business in a way that suits their life and family.
From relative obscurity, Jennifer Lancaster has gradually become an Australian leader in self-publishing. Enthusiastic about sharing her knowledge, Jennifer has supported authors’ publishing goals since 2013 through her editing work and her self-publisher’s blog.
Her business serves authors who have a lot to offer in terms of story and knowledge; those who need marketing suggestions, editing, and audience targeting support for the books.
In fact, Jennifer has supported over 25 different authors in their book creation journey, not including the course-takers.
Jennifer is delighted to be named as a finalist and is proud of her achievements, particularly creating a video-based course for novice book writers.
The Balancing Act with Home Life
There are many benefits to balancing business with family life, as she explains, “Running an author academy and support service is a great way to work in your area of passion, fulfil others’ dreams, all while being close to your family”.
It can be challenging to be a successful businesswoman while raising a family and Jennifer gives this advice for others starting their own enterprise. “Give your focus and time in the early years and later on, the child/ren will understand your need to work while at home. Of course, I was lucky because my daughter became a good cook and seldom needed my homework help”. (‘Thanks Mum, but your maths is at year 9’).
The winners of the 2022 AusMumpreneur Awards will be announced at the Sydney event in September. Read more at www.ausmumpreneur.com.
