How Can Video Production Work for Consultant Authors

Rather than pulling out hairs trying to get pro-level video trailers or book promotions together for your business benefit, there is a cloud video production marketplace. This online service is called 90 Seconds

They allow brands (that’s you) to purchase, plan, shoot, edit and review video designed specifically for your purpose. (Note: 90 seconds is arguably the ideal ‘attention span’ for a promotional video).

The global online marketplace connects brands or their agencies with video creative professionals such as videographers, directors, editors, producers, animators, drone operators and photographers, in over 84 countries.

Founder and CEO of 90 Seconds, Tim Norton, says: “By 2017, video will account for 69% of all consumer traffic, so we are proud to have developed a solution that works for global brands to deliver fast, affordable content. For Australian companies, 90 Seconds can help them produce quality video for a fraction of what advertising agencies would charge.”

Some of the world’s biggest brands including Uber, Visa, PayPal, Sony, Samsung, Barclays and Microsoft use the platform regularly. 90 Seconds is the only platform currently available to help parlay the costs of shooting across multiple locations.

90 Seconds has helped produce over 10,000 videos globally. Interestingly, 90 Seconds provides integration with video distribution platforms, storage platforms and stock libraries, including Youtube, Vimeo, Dropbox and Google Drive.

Types of videos that can be made are: interviews, advice, stories, events, ads, announcements, demos, and animation. Authors and companies would be wise to look at Stories, in my opinion the most compelling of these formats.

There is a marketing video from the founder Tim Norton which will give you some great lessons on startup marketing… as well as an example of 90 second video.

Overall, the videos on 90 Seconds holds great starting ideas for those of us without the $2-3,000 budget. You can choose to hire video production professionals directly in Brisbane from a cost of $500. (Read my book Power Marketing for suggestions). Or get animation videos done for book promotions on YouTube that are fun and under $50.

Another alternative to the professional Movie-Maker option is to use a tool like the Invideo interface – to make a book trailer yourself. Some you can do for free, and the upgrade options are much cheaper to buy than a professional video editing service.
