Creatorwood is a platform that turns books, scripts, and any written story into movies with AI. The ‘Movie Machine’ integrates with the top AI video, image, audio, and storytelling models to help transform your writing into immersive worlds, incredible characters, and gripping films with significantly less time and cost.

In this article, I summarise how this platform originated and what they are useful for.

What is going beyond the book?

You don’t say you’re only a book author. It means taking a story’s characters and uploading it to Character AI for fans to play with, says Ross. Or creating something further in nonfiction — taking the main message and filming episodes in narrative style.

This is a notion talked about on the Creatorwood Podcast (E46) Going Beyond the Book is the Future of Storytelling. Interview also says he needed to make the best possible story, firstly in the book, without getting too distracted by these fun tools.

Ross did a pre-order experiment to test if there was an audience for a particular story type. This is a good idea, fiction or nonfiction, due to all the work (100 hours+) involved in creating a book. Ross set the launch date 12 months in advance, making a basic created cover image and then ran a Meta ad straight to the sales page.

The first pre-sale came through, then 15 pre-orders, even though he hadn’t written a word! He massaged the cent click rate down to 10 cents, otherwise there would be no upside.

Michael Evans talks about the fear of releasing a book when you don’t know if it will be well-received. We all don’t want to create something only we like!

Ross acknowledges that all these tests that didn’t work out will not just be failures; it now will be much easier to build a landing page and ad creation again, i.e. skills.

So, how does it work to create a Movie from your book?

In E28, Michael Evans talks about how he originated ‘the Movie Machine’, how he started selling novels in his teens, and how his invention can make a script from a full-length book in an hour. It could make a movie in a day… Although there is more to it than that to make a good film.

To start a short film: Enter a title. Upload your file. You can choose from comic book, anime, realistic, black and white style preset. Hey presto: a storyboard done, and capacity for making various scenes, with integrations to other AI.

That first process costs 200 tokens – under $50 (AU$70). (AI tools use data tokens, and tokens are not free). A 10 minute movie, with regenerations and character edits, costs around US$333. (There is a ready reckoner on the pricing page).

The Movie Machine creates the characters, mocks up a Storyboard, and let you generate scenes. It’s easy, and if you want a full movie to edit, it’s a couple thousand dollars. That’s crazy! Probably, time limited, you might not want a full movie.

Creatorwood also has a streaming platform to help you monetise, if you create a show. Of course, you can make video short episodes, which helps people interest in the fuller stories or books you write. How to be a publisher in Australia - book

You can sell episodes and even a season of your stories… not just wait for an algorithm. The platform helps you run the shows/story episodes and make it work for you. It’s a great testing ground for story. You charge in tokens and capture 80% of viewer revenue.
